Designed for a valued client entering the ground up hillside residential niche, Moire Studio was contracted for our expertise in this project type. The site contains two adjacent upslope lots. Due to the steep nature of the site, we decided to create matching houses with relatively compact footprints that would help keep construction costs down. We are excited for the neighborhood’s potential to gentrify in the way nearby Montecito Heights and Mt. Washington have already transformed, but wanted to be mindful of not overbuilding in this location by providing what we view as smaller, but luxurious starter homes.
